Text Ad Specifications

It is the advertiser's responsibility to provide suitable text ad copy. If it is not provided, Publisher may create a text ad based on the Advertiser's message in the print ad.

Advertisers should verify with Publisher that a purchased print advertising package includes a Web ad.

Text Box Ad: Headline + Offer + Link

  • Text ad consists entirely of text, without graphics.

  • Headline portion of ad may be bolded, with restraint.

  • Text Box ads may have a colored border and a colored background. Colors are determined by Advertiser, subject to style approval by Publisher. Box size is approximate and stated for relative comparision only. As with all Web text, the actual size depends on the length and layout of the text, and on the user's browser type, window size, and text settings.

Text Link Ad: Offer + Link

  • Text ads consist entirely of text, without graphics.

  • Text Link ads typically appear in Sponsors, Marketplace, Opportunities or other lists of similar ads.

  • One section of text may have a link, either visible or embedded in the text. If link is embedded, it does not count as part of ad length.

  • Total length of Text Link Ad is normally based on corresponding magazine print ad size. All visible characters and spaces are counted.

  • Full page print = 100 characters text

  • Half page print = 50 characters text

  • 1/3 page print = 33 characters text

  • 1/4 page print = 25 characters text

  • Marketplace print = 10 characters text
