This Is Not Your Grandfather's Hearing Aid

Health.Advisor.com

Listen up: Hearing aids aren't just for old people anymore.

If you find yourself constantly going for the TV remote to turn up the volume, you might need a hearing aid, too. Luckily for you, hearing aid manufacturers know you don't want the clunky, ugly versions that have been the de facto standard for so many years.

Instead, they've started to make more modern looking hearing aids. Sleek and nearly hidden behind the ear, this new breed of hearing aid looks like just another high-tech gadget. Some are even Bluetooth compatible, so users can hook up to their iPods and cell phones.

You will pay a price for fashion though. Both hearing aids shown (Oticon Delta and Phonak Audeo) are in the $2,000 to $3,000 range. www.oticon.com, www.phonak.com
